In mounting the engine the first step is to mount it close to the hull. When marking the holes to be drilled, use a spacer to adjust the distance from the hull. Try to get it ¼” from the bottom of the hull. If it’s too high it will cause the boat to be unstable, yet too low will rub a hole in the hull.

Next is the balancing point with everything in place. This is critical; EVERYTHING must be in place to get a true balance point. Take your fingers on the side rails and slide them along the side rail, picking up the boat. Once you find the balance point, mark it with a pencil. This is the CG (Center of Gravity). Measure from the back of the hull (the rail) to this mark. Take the distance and divide it by the hull length. The balance point should be 30 to 33%.
