Set up for the Dart

Turn Fin:

The turn fin should be 2 ½ - 2 ¾” tall with a 1 ¾” flat at the bottom. Mount the turn fin 90 degrees to the keel with 2 ¼” below the keel. Take a straight edge, clamp it to the turn fin and make it straight with the keel. Ron Cook has nice turn fins that work great on the Dart, email @ ronaldlcook@msn.com

Rudder:

Put it 2 ½” from keel (even with inside stringer) and start with 3 ½” below the keel.

Drive cable/tube:

Drill the hole 1/16” to the right of center and 5/8” up from keel. By moving this up, it will loosen the boat and visa versa.

Strut / Drive:

I recommend a Zip drive and rudder assembly for the boat. Do NOT shim the drive. When set up as directed, the boat will track straight without assistance from the rudder.

Engine:

Set the engine at 14” from the inside transom to plug center. This will work for a full mod to a stock set up. This is suited for a Zenoah 230/231/260 with a 260 being optimal. Email for recommended engine modders.

Engine mounts:

I recommend Speedworld or Hypertorque.

Exhaust:

The 2” band, 90 or 100 degree header with a T-Mod cheater muffler.

Fuel Cell:

IV bag or gas bag is optimal.

Props:

Prather 275, ABC MW3, ABC G25, Prop Shop 6518/3, 6717/3, 7016/2, 7018/2

I found the PS 6717/3, 7016/2 (mod), and ABC MW3 to be optimal.

Trim tabs:

Use a 2" or bigger tab for the inside and a 2" on the outside.Get the inside as close as possible to the drive then put the outer one 1" from it.
