Set up for the Vee-Rod
(Note: CG and prop is a MUST)
1. Installing the drive

Drill the stuffing tube hole center and 5/8" up from keel. Lower the drive to tighten the boat and raise to loosen.
(I run mine at 3/4")
2. Build the servo box.
3. Rudder

1. The first step to installing the rudder is to drill the push rod hole from the inside out.
Use a 4" stand off rudder.

I like to mount the bracket to the right a bit then drill to match the bracket. This allows the rod to be in the center of the hole while turning right. Doing it this way allows the rod to be straight and will help the rod not to flex or bend. I use a carbon fiber tube over my 4-40 rod to make sure there is no flex at all.

4. Trim Tabs

5. Turn fins

Don't listen to the old saying, size does matter.

A very important step that is VERY critical to a good set up. Clamp a straight edge to the turn fins and make sure they are parallel to the keel.
6. CG (Center of Gravity)

Make absolutely sure EVERYTHING is in place. Empty tank / IV Bag, prop, battery, ect..
Then by moving the engine and servobox, balance the boat at 28 to 29%
(Note 29+ does NOT work. The boat hops in the corners)

The ABC 2716 is a great prop for the boat. So far it has pushed a Vee-Rod over 62 mph and yet handled great.
