Installation instructions for the Zip Drive

The Zip drive is designed for use with 5/16" brass tubing. If you decide to use bigger, the stuffing tube hole in the back plate can be enlarged. Just make absolutely sure it is straight, if not cables will not last. Also, it is recommended that you use wide masking tape to cover the transom area to help prevent chipping of the gelcoat while drilling.

1. Drill 5/16" where the hull manufacturer suggests (ex 1/2" - 5/8" up from keel)

2. Put a piece of stuffing tube in the hole with 1/8" hanging out the back of the hull.

Please note: This set up is for both Zip drives. However, if you wish to run the 4" Zip drive with a welded cable you will need to extend the tubing 1 1/8" vs. 1/8" out of the hull to compensate for the distance of the ferrul.

3. Drill the mounting plate holes at the top of the elongated holes.

4. Remove the plate and stuffing tube then slot the stuffing tube hole.

5. Remount and your done.
